Fiscal Court Candidate – 6th District Magistrate

May 13, 2022

Kelcey Rock

A farmer and a banker by trade, Kelcey Rock was fed up.  Tired of doing things the way they’ve always been done and concerned about progressive ideas encroaching on Warren County, he decided to do something about it. Now he is one of two candidates running for Warren County’s 6th District Magistrate.

New to politics, Rock considers himself an ‘outsider’ and his platform centers on three ideas: 1. Communicating with constituents 2. Integrity and Ethics 3. Proactive planning for continued growth.

Rock is a regular voice at Warren County Conservative meetings, participated in the WCC candidate survey and all WCC voter education events.

This is where Rock stands on the following topics:

Communications – “I want to improve the social media and website for the Fiscal Court. I’m going to personally make sure all relevant information is shared via my personal and campaign social media.”  Rock continues, “I’ve learned that the people want an after-hours meeting that they can attend. I want to get at least one Fiscal Court meeting per month scheduled after 5 pm. People want and deserve the meeting agenda at least 24 hours ahead of time. I will do that as well. … I will make information accessible.”

Integrity and Ethics – “A major concern with the citizens of Warren County is that they think their elected representatives have conflicts of duties with the decisions they make. I’m going to change that,” Rock said. “Personally, I will remove myself from voting (and any conversation) on any issue that I may have a conflict on. … I’m elected to represent my constituents, not myself.”

Growth “I want to continue to allow anyone to move here that wants to. This is a beautiful place, who am I to deprive them of this opportunity?” Rock said. “We need to control the growth and understand it. With this control we need to allow for increased population, but preserve the natural beauty, farmland, and resources of the county.”
