Don’t Throw Away Your Vote

October 29, 2024

For some Kentucky voters, the “party lever” is an easy choice. With a push of a button or a flick of the wrist, citizens can vote the party ticket and be done without further consideration. Our guys got our vote, right?

Wrong. On the November 5 ballot, over half of the choices have no party affiliation, and voting “straight ticket” means your vote is wasted. If you pull the party lever, you won’t vote for City Commissioners, School Board Members, or proposed amendments to the Kentucky Constitution.

Important information about the November 5 ballot

  1. The ballot has two sides. Turn it over. Examine and complete both sides.
  2. Non-party races and decisions will be on the back of the ballot.
  3. If you pull the party lever, you won’t vote in non-party offices and will miss voting on two proposed Constitutional Amendments. Don’t vote straight ticket.
